Intimate and romantic wedding in Dubrovnik

Planning a wedding is always a challenge! Planning a wedding abroad doubles the challenge. Not only for the bride and groom but also for the wedding planner. Wedding planner’s goal is to capture the essence of bride and groom’s wishes and ideas and make them a reality, although miles apart. With this wedding, I think we nailed it!

Dubrovnik is always beautiful, but fall has become our favorite season. Weather is warm, sea is even warmer, and colors of fall give the cozy feel and contrast the grayness of the ancient stone. This October 5th Dubrovnik woke up sunny and warm, bringing nothing but smiles on our faces.

Color palette for Katie and Dale’s wedding day complimented the beauty of the city, the blues of the sky and the sea. Bride chose mix of fall and soft summer colors going with the burgundy, but also ivory and blush pink, greenery and splashes of gold. Bouquets were ready and delivered at 10 am for photo shoot. This destination wedding in Dubrovnik was on the roll!

Next step, dressing up of the Sponza palace. Sponza is here from the 16th century, standing tall in its incredible mixture of gothic and renaissance. We decided to go subtle with the palace, not bringing in too much color in, but still adding a lot of flowers and greenery to soften it up. With wooden chairs and white carpet it looked stunning. After the sort ceremony performed by the local register, drink reception was served in the palace before leaving on the photo shoot.
With Dubrovnik wedding photo shoots are easy. Old town offers myriad of locations, each more beautiful than the other. Dyanna LaMora destination wedding photographer was in Dubrovnik for the first time, but she has truly done an amazing job with this couple.

While bride and groom and their guests were enjoying their drinks in the palace, set up of the dinner venue has begin. Dinner was held on the Victoria terrace of the Grand Villa Argentina hotel, overlooking the old town, sea and island of Lokrum. We decided to continue with the rustic elegance theme we had in Sponza so we brought in wooden table and chairs, but added very elegant and soft fabric for a table runner, and decorated the table with a lot of candles and tea lights, and again flowers, and a lot of flowers! The end result, smile on the face of the bride and groom. That’s why we are here!

18.25245043 BTC (approx CAD $1.6 million) was drained from my account on July 29th in the Coldcard wallet hack. My Bitcoin was in cold storage. My keys were stored on a Coldcard device that was kept in a safety deposit box and had never been connected to the internet. However, hackers discovered a vulnerability in the portion of the hardware wallet's code used to generate seed phrases. This allowed them to use AI to brute-force seed phrase guesses. I was at our cottage and only heard about the hack today. "No way this affects me," I thought. I logged into the Wasabi Wallet software to view my Bitcoin wallets. Right away, I saw a series of red withdrawal transactions, and I knew. Between 9:36 p.m. and 9:43 p.m. on July 29, every wallet I had had been emptied. 18.25245043 BTC was gone. That's just over CAD $1.6 million. Perhaps the hardest part was that I did everything right. I quickly contacted Morphohack Cyber Service, a crypto recovery service that I was referred to by a colleague at work who is knowledgeable about cybersecurity. To my great relief, I was able to recover my BTC in less than 72 hours after the incident. Morphohack employed blockchain forensic analysis to complete the recovery process.
